Career Posting – 1 FULL-TIME PERMANENT SCHOOL COUNSELLOR

Position Summary:

The School Counsellor is responsible for counselling services and to promote the personal/social, educational development of all Joe A. Ross students.

Required Qualifications:

• • Must possess a Counselling Certificate/Diploma from a recognized Post Secondary Institution
  • Must possess a Grade 12 Diploma from a recognized Educational Institution;
  • 2-3 years work experience in Counselling related field
  • Superior knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Canadian Certified Counsellor certification an asset
  • Great file management skills and superior organization skills
  • Knowledge of Cree culture; Cree language is an asset.

DUTIES:

• 
  • School counsellors provide education, guidance, and counselling to all students in the school through activities such as but not limited to: Direct instruction; guidance education; group and individual counselling, and student support team planning
  • Will make appropriate referrals when students require specialized, intensive or long term counselling beyond what Joe A. Ross School can provide
  • Will establish and maintain an ongoing professional, collaborative relationship with Joe A. Ross School staff, parents, clinicians and other service providers
  • Any other duties as assigned
