Job Summary:

The Elections Administrative Officer is responsible to provide the essential administrative and office support services for Opaskwayak Cree Nation Election Board. S/he ensures the flow of correspondence, the timelines, accuracy, and adequacy of responses to written and verbal enquiries. S/he is also responsible for scheduling and taking minutes for Board Meeting. The Officer will also carry out general clerical/administrative duties within the Government Services as needed.  Salary ranges from $45,000 to $60,000.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma – Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Diploma or Certificate in Office Administration.
  • At least three (3) years’ clericals, administrative experience.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of OCN’s Governance structure and policies.
  • Interpersonal skills- listening, problem-solving, decision-making.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently act professional manner (required);
  • Ability to think proactively, critically & independently to make strong & informed decisions.
  • Ability to speak the Cree language is an asset
