Job Summary:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess a Bachelor’s of Education Degree from a recognized Educational Institution
• Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
• Knowledge and Experience in Land-Based Activities
• A satisfactory child abuse registry check and criminal record check are required
• Cree language is a definite asset.

DUTIES:
• Planning and carrying out meaningful learning on the land for students based on grade level;
• Work and plan in collaboration with other land based teachers;
• Maintaining an effective learning environment that is pleasant, respectful, conductive and orderly for the student’s learning;
• Providing an environment that will promote self-esteem and self-confidence for students. To maintain order and discipline among students attending or participating in activities that are sponsored or approved by the school, inside or out;
• Providing reports and attendance to the principal when required
• Enhance teaching and learning by using the results from assessments
• The inclusion of elders, and knowledge keepers in providing Land-Based education will be important
• Other duties as assigned;
